Deep Sea Diving Independent Duty Corpsmen independently provide medical care, diving medicine oversight, readiness support, and medical advice for isolated diving units and operational commands. They diagnose and manage diving disorders, perform emergency and minor surgical care, supervise hyperbaric treatment and diving operations, manage health programs, and advise commanders on force wellness and risk.
