Submarine Force Independent Duty Corpsman

Submarine Force Independent Duty Corpsmen serve as independent medical representatives who diagnose, treat, and manage routine and emergency health needs aboard submarines and isolated duty stations. They conduct preventive medicine, laboratory and minor surgical procedures, radiation health programs, personnel dosimetry, health education, and medical logistics without a medical officer present.
