Navy personnel with the American Spanish NEC demonstrate validated proficiency in Spanish used across the Americas for operational communication, translation, interpretation, and language support assignments. They may translate spoken or written material, support intelligence and liaison activities, and communicate with Spanish-speaking communities in culturally informed ways.
